The sub bass of the Salt can get low and has good texture and can rumble quite authoritatively when called for.
The sub bass is well controlled and has a warm and full sound, it has a quick planar-like decay and adds depth to the sound stage of the Salt.
Mids, with the rose gold nozzles, are warm and just slightly more forward than the treble, for more treble sparkle I would recommend the silver nozzles.
With the rose gold nozzles, the mids are warm and smooth, and vocals are a little more forward than instruments.
The clarity of the rose gold nozzles isn't quite as sharp and clear as the silver nozzles, but the mids did have just a bit more warmth.
Treble with the rose gold nozzles is more reserved, the silver nozzles on the other hand add more sparkle and a little more height to the sound stage, as well as elevating the upper mids just a little too, giving the sound stage a little more width.
The treble is just behind the mids with the rose gold nozzles, but for those who want a little more treble energy, the silver gives the treble a little more sparkle and adds more air to vocals as well.
Female vocals sound great with the silver nozzles, the rose gold nozzles add just a little more warmth, but sacrifice some of that energy and sparkle.
I did occasionally find the silver nozzles just slightly fatiguing with that spice in the treble, so switching to the rose gold nozzles gave me a more smoothed over, but easier listening sound, with nice warm mids and a nice sub bass, with that treble just a little tamer.
One quick comparison I would like to make is with the Nicehck F1 Pro, which has a little more upper treble energy again, and is seemingly easier to drive, with the F1 Pro sounding just slightly louder than the MP143 Salt on the same volume level.
I did prefer the tuning of the Hidizs MP143 Salt when comparing it with the Nicehck F1 Pro, the F1 Pro felt just a little dryer and just slightly more energetic in the upper treble, which could become a little fatiguing after some time.
The MP143 Salt also has a more controlled sub bass, the F1 Pro had a slight distortion in some tracks that the MP143 Salt played back with a smoother more controlled bass.
So my conclusion to the Hidizs MP143 Salt, it's another set that has some very nice tuning and with the swappable filters gives you a bit of flexibility too.Which is a definite plus for me.
