The MP143 has more or less similar tuning to the MP145, especially on the rose gold nozzle.
Though I do notice the MP143 to be a bit more laidback, mellow and has more satisfying bass compared to its older brother the MP145.
With the silver nozzle, the MP143 sounds a tad more lively on the upper midrange and treble region but it still maintains this mellow sound signature.
Now the unexpected surprise of the MP143 is with the red nozzle, It made the bass a lot more boosted with reduced upper midrange and treble.
I thought the difference was going to be subtle just like the MP145, but no.
On the MP143, the red nozzle gives you completely different tuning, bass boosted tuning. I can see this tuning to be appreciated by bass heads for sure, It definitely has that planar bass everyone loves with huge bass boosted quantity.
More detailed review & comparison to the MP145 (rose gold nozzle)
Bass : The MP143 has that planar bass, it vibrates, you can literally feel the bass rumble in your ears.
The bass on MP143 is a bit more bouncier, rounder compared to the MP145. It has a softer punch, but better sub bass rumble.
As for the bass quantity, it is boosted from sub bass to mid bass region same just like the MP145.
Midrange : The MP143 has a mellow laid back midrange presentation, never shouty, zero harshness.
Compared to the MP145, even though the FR chart is similar, the presentation itself is quite different, with MP145 you get a more precise midrange presentation with more aggressive attack compared to the MP143.
Treble : On the MP143, the treble sounds a bit more rounded and mellow compared to the MP145. It is still extended but the presentation is a bit darker, it has just enough air to not make the overall tuning sound dull.
With the MP145, you get more bite on the treble.
